Police in Jammu andKashmir have arrested a teacher for beating minor students at a school inAwantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a statement, apolice spokesman said that the police made the arrest after a video which gotviral on social media platforms purportedly showed a school teacher beatingminor children.
The police saidthat Awantipora police took cognizance of the matter and took the teacher intocustody.
The police saidthat the department is committed to show zero tolerance towards any physical ormental punishment inflicted through humiliating methods on school-goingchildren.
“It is now globallyacknowledged that punishment in any form inflicted on school-going childrencomes adversely in way of developing full potential of the school-goingchildren,” added the spokesman.
