Sehrai condemns NIA summons to Anees-ul-Islam

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai Wednesday condemned the NIA summons to Anees-ul-Islam Shah grandson of Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani and son of TeH leader Muhammad Altaf Shah.

Altaf Shah was arrested in 2017 by the NIA along withseveral other Hurriyat leaders in an alleged funding case.

   

“Anees-ul-Islam has been asked to present himself before theNIA in New Delhi on April 29,” Sehrai, in a statement today, said.

Sehrai said, “New Delhi should stop intimidation and mentaltorture of innocent families of incarcerated resistance leaders and Kashmirisin general and those already imprisoned for their legal/political belief anddissent in particular.”

“By adopting such tactics, the government of India and itsagencies will not achieve anything and this process of pressurising andrelentless humiliation is bound to alienate the people of Kashmir further,” hesaid.

Meanwhile, Sehrai has expressed deep sorrow over the Dodaroad accident caused by a landslide, in which at least four persons were killedand 11 others injured.

He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families andprayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

Sehrai also condoled the demise of HRCC founder memberGhulam Hassan Mir and extended his sympathy and solidarity with the bereavedfamily.
