Sehrai denounces shifting of religious, political prisoners to outside jails

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai today strongly denounced the shifting of incarcerated socio-political and religious leaders and activists to the outside state jails.

“Among those who have been shifted to outside Valley jailsinclude Dr Hameed Fayaz, Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri, Mushtaq Ahmed Hurra, Bashir AhmadSoliha, Shakeel Ahmed Pandit,Sami Ullah Bhat and many others,” Sehrai,  said in a statement..

   

Sehrai also condemned the slapping public safety act (PSA)on Sheikh Muhammad Ramzaan,Javeed Khan,Rameez Ahmad Shah,Gulzar Ahmad Ganai andtheir shifting to outside the Valley jails.

“All these inmates are being shifting to outside jails to subject to suppression and physical and mental torture which is a blatant violation of the basic rights of prisoners under the international law.

The move is not only against the principles of democracy but a blatant violation of the Supreme Court guidelines. We appeal to the international and local human rights institutions to take cognizance of these inhuman methods to suppress Kashmiris,” he added.
