Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai today reiterated his demand for unconditional release of all political prisoners before the Eid- ul-Fitar.
“The government has no legal and moral justification toprolong the detentions of political prisoners. So we demand their release sothat they might join their families on the auspicious occasion Eid-ul-Fitr,”Sehrai said in a statement.
He said, “The majority of these political prisoners are inpreventive custody and are lodged in jails without any trial. And others whosecases are in courts are not deliberately presented for trial on their hearingdates on one or other pretext and in this way their detentions are getting prolonged.”
