Sehrai slams PSA on Moulana Mushtaq Veeri

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai today condemned the slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on Jamiat  Ahle Hadith  vice- president and religious scholar Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri and his shifting to a Jammu jail.

“Such tactics can’t weaken the sentiment of the Kashmiripeople. Arresting and slapping PSA on prominent religious scholars is attack onreligious sentiments of the people,” Sehrai said  in a statement. He demanded immediate releaseof Moulana Mushtaq Veeri.

   

Sehrai also condemned the arrest and slapping of PSA onMuhammad Shabaan Dar and Aquib Gulzar and detention of advocate Mir Assad Ullahof Jammat-e-Islami (JeI).

“Jamaat-e-Islami is a socio-religious and welfare organisation and arresting its leadership and workers and imposing ban on it are unjustified,” the statement stated.

Meanwhile, Sehrai strongly denounced the terror on mosques in New Zealand in which at least 49 Muslims were slain and a number of others injured, terming it uncivilized act.He extended his deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims.
