Hurriyat Conference (G) has appealed human rights organizations to take note of seizure of residential house of pro-freedom leader and People’s League chief Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and use their influence in releasing the same.
In a statement, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said; “House of Sopori was sealed on 30 June 2012 by the government and since then he and his family is living a miserable life. He had constructed the residential house on a 5 malara plot of land at Chanapora area and government seized it some two and a half years ago.
The said house was also affected by the recent floods and there are possibilities of its further damage and in this regard he had sought permission from the court for its repair but he has not received any instructions in this regard,” he said.
