In connection with celebrations of the ongoing Urs Mubarak of Sakhi Zain Ud Din Wali Rishi (RA), a daylong seminar “Contribution of Sufis and Rishis to Kashmir Society” was organised by Al’Sarwat Educational Foundation at Al’Ahad B Ed College Anantnag on Saturday.
Chairman of the college, Dr Zulfikar Siddqui, on theoccasion while highlighting the contribution of the Sufis and Rishis to Kashmirsociety, stressed the need of following their footprints in the presentscenario of “class and confusion”.
He, according to a statement, underlined the importance ofholding such seminars and functions in the educational institutions so that theyoung generation is “rightly guided to become the torchbearers for the future”.
Prof Bashar Bashir, Prof Shad Ramzan, Dr Sameer ShafiSiddqui, Dr Marius Shah, Dr Fayaz, Dr Masood Masudi and Ghulam Nano Aateshpresented their papers on the occasion.
On this occasion, renowned scholar Ghulam Nano Aatesh wasfelicitated for his contributions to Kashmiri language and literature.
A citation and a shawl were presented to him in presence ofa galaxy of scholars present on the occasion.
Prof Shad Ramzan presided over the function and Dr TanveerHayat conducted the proceedings, the statement said.
