Seminar on drug deaddiction held in Sopore

A seminar on drug deaddiction was held at Hanfia Model Public School, Sopore today. 

“Some youth get into the vicious cycle of drug abuse due to ignorance and it therefore, becomes imperative to educate them about the ill effects of drug abuse. Army has been undertaking consistent efforts to control this menace. Drug De-Addiction Centre, (DDC) Baramulla, under the aegis of Dagger Division has strived to make the region drug free,” Army spokesperson said in a statement. 

   

“The drug de-addiction seminar was attended by 60 students along with faculty of the school. A talk on mental health and drug abuse was delivered by the counselors of Drug De-addiction Centre. The role of society, family and friends in assisting the victim in his/her fight against drugs was also pondered upon. In the end, the students interacted with the counselors and their queries were adequately answered,” the statement said.
