The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) organized a special prayer meeting here for Bhat, Guru and other martyrs.

Various separatist organizations have paid tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad MaqboolBhat on their anniversaries being observed on February 9 and 11 respectively.

“The martyrdom of these two great pro-freedom leaders instilled new lease of life into the resistance movement of Jammu Kashmir. Their anniversaries provide us opportunity to ponder over Why we have given  up  the cause  for which  these  great  men  laid  their precious  lives.  The best way to pay homage to these martyrs is to renew our pledge to take the freedom movement to its logical end,” Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, AasiyaAndrabi said in a statement here today.

The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) organized a special prayer meeting here for Bhat, Guru and other martyrs.

“Their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” DFP chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah said on the occasion, reiterating to take the ‘mission of martyrs to its logical end.’

Shah demanded return of mortal remains of Bhat and Guru to their families.

Describing Guru, Bhat and all martyrs as national heroes, Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan appealed for complete shutdown and protests on February 9 and 11 to observe their anniversaries.

“India has been killing our freedom loving brethren since 1947 but New Delhi crossed all moral limits when it jailed even mortal remains of ShaheedBhat and Shaheed Guru. We appeal to the justice loving people and organisations of the world to help the families of ShaheedBhat and Shaheed Guru to attain the remains of their martyrs,” Khan said.

Chairman Democratic Liberation Party Hashim Qureshi also paid tributes to Guru and Bhat.
