Shahnaz Bashir’s The Half Mother declared winner of Muse India award

Author and academic Shahnaz Bashir’s maiden novel The Half Mother which was shortlisted for awards in poetry and fiction category of Muse India awards has been declared winner.
 
According to  GSP Rao, Director, Hyderabad Literary Festival and Managing Editor, Muse India, Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar and Shahnaz Bashir have been declared joint winners of the fiction award for their debut novels ‘The Mysterious Ailment of Rupi Baskey’ by Sowvendra and ‘The Half Mother’ by Shahnaz) respectively.
 
Also Aditi Rao was the winner in poetry category for her book ‘The Fingers Remember’. 
The judges also decided to declare Meera Nair as the Runner-up for her book ‘Grey – Born when Black invaded White’.
