Chief Electoral Officer J&K Shaleen Kabra today held a meeting with representatives of different political parties regarding on-going special summary revision of electoral rolls.
A statement said the representatives were apprised about extension of ongoing summary revision, with 23 December as last date for filling of claims and objections, disposal of claims and objections up to 12 January and final publication of electoral rolls as 22 January, 2019.
The representatives of political parties were informed that third and final special camp at all the polling stations across the state is being held on 16 December, wherein all booth level officers in presence of booth level agents will go through the draft roll and identify the errors if any.
The CEO requested political parties to appoint booth level agents at grassroots level, who will remain present at designated locations for receipt of claims and objections, under the aegis of designated officers/Booth Level Officers, on the special campaign day, besides to help BLOs to rectify anomalies, if any, in the voter list. He further appealed them to avail the facility offered by Election Commission of India through an online portal (NVSP http:/ /www.nvsp.in).
