Thousands of mourners on Sunday morning attended the last rites of a Jaish-e-Mohammad militant who was killed in a gunfight with security forces on Friday in Tral area.
Immediately after the body of Junaid Ayoub Wagay reached hisnative village of Amshipora, thousands converged there and participated in his last rites.
Wagay was killed along with another associate Yawar Najar ofDarganie Gund Tral during a gun battle with forces in Midoora village of Tralon Friday evening.
Earlier, the identity of Wagay could not be ascertainedimmediately and it was thought that hewas a Pakistani national.
After multiple rounds of funerals prayers, the slainmilitant was laid to rest in hisancestral graveyard. Meanwhile, mourners continued to visit the families ofboth the slain militants to express their solidarity with them.
