Shutdown in Zaingeer parts to mourn killing of militants

Parts of Zaingeer belt of Sopore in north Kashmir observed a complete shutdown on Friday to mourn killings of two local militants in a gunfight with forces on Thursday at Dangarpora.

Shops and the other business establishments were shut whiletraffic also remained off the roads.

   

People from Sopore and its neighboring areas visited theresidences of both the slain militants at Warpora and Brath Kalan to offercondolences with the family.

Two Lashkar militants Asif Ahmad Var of Aftab Mohalla Warporaand Naseer Ahmad Mir of Brath Kalan were killed in a day long gunfight with thegovernment forces. They were laid to rest amid at their respective nativevillages.

Eyewitnesses said that thousands of people including womenparticipated in their funeral prayers. They shouted slogans. Women were seenbeating their chests.
