Sikh community demands reservation in jobs, education

Sikh community has appealed to the government to grant them reservation in jobs and education as they are “minority” in the state.

A delegation of ‘United Sikh Forum’ led by Manmeet Singh visited Greater Kashmir city office Tuesday and said that measures for their upliftment must be taken.

“Sikhs are in minority with the population ratio of 1:87 only. As per constitution, measures have to be taken for upliftment of minorities,” he said. “We must be given all the benefits we deserve as minority community,” he added.
