The Sikh United Front J&K has welcomed the verdict in Katuha rape and murder case.
Addressing a joint press conference of various Sikhorganizations J&K, S Sudershan Singh Wazir , chairman Sikh UnitedFront J&K, said that the historicverdict is a big blow to those who were bent upon politicizing this heinouscrime.
Wazir lauded the role of J&K Crime Branch for conductingthe investigation in a highly professional manner and also commended theprosecution wing which projected the case before the designated court.
He complemented the chief of state police and the stategovernment for ensuring a prompt investigation and a speedy trial.
Wazir called upon the state government to strictly implementthe amendment in RPC By incorporating Section – 376 A and B whereby any offenceunder this section against a child below 12 years of age will make the culpritto face the death penalty especially in case of rape and sexual abuse of achild below 12 years.
