Six days into militancy, Baramulla youth arrested: Report

A youth from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, who hadjoined militancy nearly a week ago, was held by the security forces during araid last night, reports said.

According to news agency GNS, Bashir Ahmad Beigh of Shirpora Kandi area of Kreeri was held by a joint team of the army and the police from Shumlaran area of Chandusa.

   

“On his instance, raids were carried out in Kreeri latenight which resulted in the recovery of one AK rifle with two magazines and 40rounds,” an unnamed police officer was quoted as having said by GNS.

According to the officer, Beigh had joined militant ranks onApril 2. “In this connection, a case has been registered and furtherinvestigation has been taken up,” the officer added.
