SKUAST–K holds farmer-scientist-student interaction

Directorate of Extension (DoE), SKUAST Kashmir on Tuesday organized an online one day farmer-scientist-student interaction on soil plant health management for better returns.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Sheikh Muzaffar, Associate Director Extension (Agri.) highlighted the role of organic farming for better management of soil and plant health.

   

Prof. Javid A Wani, Prof. Nisar A Khan and Prof. Manzoor A Parrey respectively discussed the soil biodiversity, plant health management and role of bee keeping in pollination management besides employment generation potential.

A question answer session was also held during the webinar. Queries related to soil testing, spray schedule, plant disease management, apiculture etc were properly addressed by the experts. Prof. Amal Saxena, Associate Director (KVKs) presented the concluding remarks. Dr Lyaqat Ali, Senior Extension Specialist, DoE presented the welcome address. Dr Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, Scientist Soil Sciences, DoE moderated the technical sessions. Dr Aijaz A Dar, Scientist, DoE presented the vote of thanks.
