A 15 day special target sanitation program an initiative by SMC in collaboration with IEC partners, was kick started here on Thursday.

Students on the occasion also delivered speeches onsafeguarding environment, waste segregation and ill-effects of polythene.
“Later rallies were organised from SMC office in whichstudents and SMC officials held placardsand banners with a motivation to sensitize public their role in keepingenvironment healthy and clean,” the statement said.
Commissioner SMC Khurshid Ahmad Sanai said that aim of suchprograms is to bring about a permanent behavioural change among the citizens ofcity by encouraging them to change their habits and keep the city-litter free.
Chief Sanitation Officer Syed Nisar said that public in general and households inparticular are requested not to throw any kind of waste outside their houses.
“We will soon launch more such initiatives and engage new generation in state wide cleanliness missions to develop apositive sense and attitude in students” said Shiekh Ahsaan Ellahi,Project Manager IEC.
