Many social organisations are coming forward to help families whose livelihood has been badly hit by the restrictions and the lockdown ordered by the administration to prevent spread of COVID-19

Khidmat-e-Khalq, a social organization in Hajin, is one such organization which has ensured that the destitute families do not sleep empty stomach.

Soon after the onset of the restrictions, the organization led by a social activist, Waseem Parray started distributing food items and other essentials among the destitute families in Hajin and adjoining areas.

“We first identified the families who were badly hit. We provided them food packets and other essentials,” Waseem said.

The social activist said his organization helped by local lot volunteers works hard to identify the poor and the needy in Hajin.

He said people of the area should be appreciated for whatever his organization has so far managed to do for the desperate families.

“I think people of this area should be thanked for donating so generously. It is because of their donations that we are able to provide relief to the needy whose life has been hit badly due to the prevailing situation,” he said.

On last Saturday, the volunteers of Khidmat-e-Khalq distributed essentials among 32 families who were in dire need of help.

Locals have appreciated the good work done by the organization and want them to carry it forward.

Waseeem assured that with the support of people, Khidmat-e-Khalq will continue to do the good work and reach out to people in need and distress.
