A 70-year-old woman was crushed to death by a speedy vehicle in Lalad village of this town in north Kashmir on Saturday.
Reports said the woman identified as Fatima Begum, wife of Ghulam Muhammad Naikoo of Lalad died after she was hit by a speedy vehicle on Sopore-Srinagar highway when she was trying to cross the road.
A police official said the driver managed to escape from the spot. “We have taken cognizance of the accident and started investigation,” said the official.
