Reiterating Congress Party’s resolve to defeat the political exploitation, corruption and favoritism in the state, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and the party candidate G.A. Mir has said that people of J&K have suffered because of the betrayal and misleading politics on the part of PDP, BJP and others.
Mir also said thatpeople of Anantnag have voted against the opportunist politics in first phaseand appealed to people of Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama to follow suit.
Addressing variouspublic meetings at Manzgam, Nadimarg andKulgam in Kulgamdsistrict today, G.A. Mir urged people to support Congress Party in its endeavor to put an end to the emotional blackmailing andpolitical exploitation on the part of PDP and other opportunist parties, whichhave equally betrayed people, from time to time, for electoral gains.
JKPCC President wasaccompanied by ShahnawazChowdhary, Surinder Singh Channi, InduPawar,UdhayChibb, Anayatullah Rather and others.
He said J&K waspassing through a crucial phase due to the surrender of the PDP before BJPafter securing votes from people especially in south Kashmir on the promise ofkeeping the BJP away.
“I want to remind youabout the promises made to you by the PDP during 2014 Assembly election. Theymisled you on sensitive issue of Article 370, pledged to keep BJP out of powerand bring back the power projects, besides the promises of repealing AFSPA and what not. What happenedafter the elections is known to everybody,” Mir said.
“I am confident thatpeople would come out in Phase II and Phase IIIrd in large numbers and casttheir vote to ensure victory of Congress Party. Congress party alone stands guarantee to integrity, special status ofthe state and dignity of people in all the three regions”, Mir said.
Mir said SouthKashmir has bled enough due to the wrong policies of PDP and its old friendBJP.
“There was a huge disillusionment among the people becauseof violence and bloodshed. People needto understand that the PDP, which was responsible for the damages is againtrying to woo the voters by runningpaper horses only,” Mir said. “The fact of the matter is that the PDP cannot doanything. This party which has sacrificed its core agenda for power has againstarted misleading people over sensitive issues like safeguarding specialstatus of the J&K, which is beyond its reach”.
He said CongressParty alone can safeguard special status of the state and will do everything todefeat the communal agenda of BJP RSS, besides exploitative politics of otherpolitical parties in J&K.
