South Kashmir: Eight policemen injured in Pulwama grenade blast, all stable

Eight policemen were injured in a grenade blast in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, police said.

An official said that militants lobbed a grenade at Pulwama police station that exploded with a bang, leaving eight policemen injured. Several private vehicles were also damaged in the blast.

   

He said that the injured were shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where the condition of all of them is stated to be stable.

Earlier, in a tweet, DIG South Kashmir said that four policemen were injured in the blast.

“Four Policemen received injury in the grenade blast at Pulwama.All are stated to be stable.@JmuKmrPolice,” read the tweet.

Following the blast, the area was cordoned off by the forces to nab the attackers, said the official.

He said that some youth pelted the forces with stones after the blast. He also ruled out injuries to any civilian.
