South Kashmir: Two CRPF men wounded in Pulwama militant attack

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were wounded in a militant attack in Newa village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

A police official said the militants fired a UBGL grenade at  183 Battalion CRPF  around 10 pm in Newa village.

   

The militants, he said, opened indiscriminate fire at the camp following the grenade blast, leaving two CRPF personnel wounded.

He said that both the personnel sustained bullet injuries and were shifted to district hospital Pulwama.

The official identified the injured CRPF men as Santosh Bharti and Amit Kumar.

While Bharti, according to the official, received bullet in his hand, Kumar suffered injuries in his shoulder.

An official at district hospital Pulwama said that Kumar has been referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
