Special divers summoned after soldier slips into Kishenganga river in north Kashmir’s Gurez

An army soldier slipped into Kishenganga river duringroutine patrolling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of northKashmir’s Bandipora district.

Official sources told Srinagar based news agency Global NewsService (GNS) that sepoy Sabrinath (belt no. 15800560A) of 51 RR slipped intofast flowing river Kishenganga near Hussangam area of Tulail in Gurez duringintervening night of June 8 and 9.

   

The other soldiers tried to rescue their colleague whodrowned along with his service rifle but to no avail, they said.

The army has rushed special divers to trace the soldier.

A police officer said that the searches are underway totrace the soldier.
