Special Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Rifat Arif kick-started a cleanliness drive under ‘Swacchta Pakhwada’ initiative, here today.
The Special Secretary, who is also In-charge, State MissionDirector State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) launched the drivein-collaboration with District Level Centre for Women.
District Program Officer, District Level Centre for Women,Zeenat Ara, Gender Specialist SRCW, Sameena Mir and other concerned werepresent on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Special Secretary said thatthe aim of organizing Pakhwada is to achieve the goals of sanitation, hygieneand open defecation free India under Swachh Bharat Mission.
She said that to generate awareness about sanitation andhygiene various initiative will be taken including swacchta rallies, plantationdrives, and inspections of toilets in schools and public spaces across thedistrict.
District Program Officer Zeenat Ara and Gender SpecialistSameena Mir also spoke on the occasion.
