A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) trooper posted in Srinagar allegedly attempted suicide on Monday after he shot himself with his service rifle, officials said.
Quoting the officials, news agency KNO reported that Gagan Jha, son of Subodh Jha who was posted at State Motor Garage Bemina shot himself with his service rifle.

Jha was immediately referred to JVC Bemina for treatment, officials added.
