SSM College celebrates ‘graduation day’

SSM College of Engineering, Divar Parihaspora, celebrated “graduation day” at its campus to felicitate 461 pass-out students from different streams.

Prof Rakesh Sehgal, Director NIT Srinagar, was the ChiefGuest, and Prof Wahid Qureshi, former Vice-Chancellor, Central University ofKashmir, the Guest of Honour on the occasion.                

   

Dilafrose Qazi, Vice-Chairperson of the Institute highlightedsome notable achievements of the institute in her address.

She said more emphasis is given to “entrepreneurship, tradesand projects in the Institute”.

“Many projects of students have been identified for fundingby different organizations. Many startups have been financed by Central/StateGovernments,” she said.

She made a reference of those students who brought laurelsto the institute by working hard in the fields of innovative projects anddesigns in Technology, Research & Publication, Entrepreneurship, Sportsetc.

She informed the august gathering about starting M Techcourses in Electronics & Communication Engineering and MechanicalEngineering during 2018-19.

The Director NIT Srinagar Prof Rakesh Sehgal in his addressapplauded the management for bringing up the institute in this region wherewell trained technocrats and managers are produced to serve the society inright perspective.

He also appreciated the faculty and the students for theirhard work, dedication and advised to strive hard with commitment, a statementissued by the institute said.

He gave assurance that the NIT Srinagar and the SSM Collegeof Engineering will work with more collaboration and unison for promotingtechnical education in this region. 

Prof Wahid Qureshi in his address made a reference of hislong association with the SSM College of Engineering in the capacity of DCDC,Dean Academics and finally as Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir.

He appreciated the painstaking efforts of themanagement.  He stressed for adopting anew and practical approach of study based on analytical, scientific andcomputer supported with better communication skills.

The Principal of the college, Dr. Sajad Hussain Din,presented vote of thanks.
