Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Saturday demanded “memorial stone” for 40 CRPF personnel killed in Pulwama suicide attack in February.
BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav Saturday visitedthe attack spot at Lethpora, Pulwama along with BJP state spokesman AltafThakur and BJP’s candidate for Srinagar-parliamentary constituency KhalidJehangir.
“We demanded a memorial stone on the highway for the Pulwamamartyrs. The names of all the 40 soldiers should be inscribed on it,” BJP statespokesman, Altaf Thakur told Greater Kashmir.
As per source, the BJP’s national spokesman ShahnawazHussain, who was in Kashmir recently was also asked by the state BJP for thememorial stone at Lethpora site where on 14 February, a bus in a CRPF convoyferrying 40 CPRF men was blown up by a Jaish-e-Muhammad suicide bomber AdilAhmad Dar, who rammed his explosive laden vehicle into the CRPF vehicle nearLethpora Pampore.
The state BJP has repeatedly stressed for the memorial stonealong the highway “so that 40 CRPF troopers will be rememberedeverlastingly”.
