Amid outrage over the alleged rape of a three-year-old girlin Sumbal, another minor girl has been allegedly raped in central Kashmir’sGanderbal district, police said on Tuesday.
A police official said that the family of a girl, aged about16 years approached them with a complaint on Sunday evening.
Senior superintendent of police Ganderbal, Mohammed KhalilPoswal told Greater Kashmir that they received a complaint on Sunday.
He said that the accused person who is a resident of Harranarea and neighbour of the victim has been arrested and further investigationsin the case have been taken up.
Massive protests have erupted across the Kashmir valley withpeople, mostly students, hitting the streets against the alleged rape of minorgirl in Sumbal.
The protesters have been staging protests despite theauthorities appealing for calm.
