Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen militant laid to rest in Awantipora amid pro-freedom slogans

An eye witness said that two rounds of funeral prayers were held for Bhat at his native Dangerpora village in which over a thousand people participated.

Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TeM) militant Showkat Ahmad Bhat was laid to rest amid pro-freedom and pro-Burhan Wani slogans in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

An eye witness said that two rounds of funeral prayers were held for Bhat at his native Dangerpora village in which over a thousand people participated.

Bhat was killed in a brief shootout with the government forces in Kakapora area of the district late last night.

Meanwhile, Internet service has been barred in the district.
