Thousands of people on Monday participated in the congregational prayers held on the chaharum of Hafeeza Begum, wife of prominent industrialist Syed Iqbal Bukhari at their native village of Ladoora in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that thousands of people from different walks of life visited Ladoora to take part in the congregational prayers and offer their condolences to the bereaved family.
Begum, who was mother of senior PDP leader and former finance minister Altaf Bukhari, breathed her last on Friday morning after prolonged illness.
A family member said that Altaf Bukhari will remain present at their Sheikhbagh residence in Srinagar on Tuesday and Wednesday to receive people.
