Terming the levying of ‘heavy’ road tax on National Highway (NH) as a ‘regressive and anti-people’ decision, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) chief Shah Faesal today asked the state government for its immediate deferment.
“We ask the state government to defer levying heavy road taxon Srinagar-Jammu highway at newly established Toll Plaza,” Shah Faesal said ina statement.
Faesal lambasted thegovernment for levying heavy road tax ‘without realizing’ the impact it wouldhave on local economy.
