The J&K Employees Joint Action Committee – Revolutionary, or JKEJAC (R), All Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Teachers’ Association (AJKCTA) and J&K Wildlife Casual Labours’ Union today staged here a protest demanding regularisation of services of casual, daily wage and midday meal workers.
The protesters also called for establishment of a committeeto look into their demands.

As the protest intensified, police swung into action andtried to limit the protestors to the park so as to ensure mobility of thetraffic.
“Among us are teachers, PHE, PDD and MDM workers as alsoAnganwadi workers. We are on the streets for more than 2 months now. We arebeing paid peanuts in the name of salary,” the protestors said.
