Traders on Tuesday held a protest demonstration at city centre Lal Chowk against the rape-and-murder of eight-year-old Muslim nomadic girl in Kathua earlier this year.
Scores of traders held a protest march on the busy residency road to demand justice for the minor girl.
The protest march blocked the traffic movement on the road for some time.
“We want an exemplary punishment to the culprits so that no one in future dares to commit such a heinous crime” said Farooq Ahmed Batkoo, president of the Kokar Bazar traders association.
