Dr. S.P. Vaid, Transport Commissioner, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Dr. Vaid apprised the Governor about various initiatives ofthe Transport Department for ensuring road safety management and facilitationof the commuters, an official handout said.
The Governor emphasised the vital importance of ensuringstrict discipline on the roads to reduce incidence of serious accidents andstressed on routine checking of vehicles.
He also discussed with the Transport Commissioner theavailability of bus service to the people living in far off areas.
