A minor girl died after being mowed down by a car in Marhama village of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.
Officials said a santro car bearing number HP 09C-0189 hit a minor girl at Check Panchpora, Marhama village of Bijbehara late afternoon.
“The girl died on spot,” officials said. The deceased has been identified as Aabroo Reyaz, aged 7 daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Khanday of Check-Pachpora, Marhama.
“The vehicle was also damaged during the accident. However, the driver managed to flee from the spot,” officials said.
They said that the case has been registered and investigations taken up.
Meanwhile; a Scooty rider died after being hit by a speedy tractor in Vesu village of Qazigund along the Srinagar- Jammu highway in Anantnag district.
“He died on spot”.
The deceased has been identified Aadil Sultan Dar son of Mohammad Sultan Dar,aged 24 of Bangdar village of Anantnag. “A case has been registered in this regard and investigations taken up, “an official said.
