Two associated of Lashkar-e-Toiba were arrested from Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday, Police said.
A statement of J&K Police issued here said, “Acting on specific information, Police along with 13 RR and 45 Bn CRPF apprehended two militant associates of LeT at Bonikhan Mohalla area of Hajin town and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession which included two live hand grenades and eight live rounds of AK 47.”
Police identified the two as G Mohuiddin Khan, son of Nazir Ahmad Khan of Paribal Hajin and Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin.
“On preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that the accused were associated with LeT and were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active militants in Sumbal and Hajin area,” the Police statement said.
It said that in this regard a Case under FIR No 16/2021 under the relevant sections of law had been registered at Police Station Hajin.
