Two more teachers test COVID-19 positive at Baramulla school

Two more teachers at a government higher secondary school in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district tested COVID-19 positive on Monday taking the tally at the school to three, Greater Kashmir has learnt.

The surfacing of infections at the school has made teachers and students apprehensive about their health and their family members as well.

As already reported by this newspaper, a teacher from the school had tested positive for the disease besides two teachers at another school in Rafiabad last week.

Staffers at the school, while confirming that two more teachers had tested positive, alleged that the required fumigation of the premises had not been carried out even as the school Principal was calling students for normal class work thereby putting lives at risk.

Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Muhammad Younis Malik when contacted said the matter will be looked into.

“I will take the feedback from the school head and if need arises, we will close the institution to ensure safety of staff and students,” he said.
