Two soldiers killed along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir

An army soldier was killed in a ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s  Bandipora district, while another army man was killed in a gunfight with suspected militants near the LoC in Jammu’s Rajouri district, officials said on Monday.

“Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violationin Gurez sector this morning. Our troops retaliated to the violation inadequate measure and effectively,” an army official said.

   

He said, “One soldier was killed in the firing by Pakistanitroops.”

ARMY MAN KILLED IN GUNFIGHT

“An Army soldier was killed in a gunfight that broke outbetween soldiers and suspected infiltrators aided by Pakistani forces along theLine of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district,” PTI quoted officials as havingsaid. 

They said, “Pakistan Army has been aiding the suspects byopening heavy fire at the Indian posts. Troops picked up suspicious movementsalong the LoC in Keri Battal belt in Sunderbani sector this morning. A loudblast was then heard followed by heavy firing from Pakistan. Indian troopsretaliated promptly leading to a fierce gunfight.”

The exchange of fire was on till last reports came in, adefence spokesperson said.
