Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have prevented two youth from joining the militancy in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Acting on a specific input, police in Awantipora were able to prevent ‘two youth from joining the militant ranks, said a spokesman.
He said the duo hailing from Tral and Awantipora areas were planning to join militant ranks. These youths had been indoctrinated and were influenced by the false narratives, he added.
Accordingly, Awantipora police counseled the youth in presence of their family members thereby preventing them from joining the militant ranks, said the spokesman, adding: “the youth were handed over to their family members.”
