Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Thursday termed unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir state as a ticking time-bomb.
In a statement, Tarigami said, “As per media reports, injust 15 days more than 1.5 lakh postgraduates have registered themselves withthe state government as unemployed. The number could be much higher as time forregistration was limited. Plus, there are a large number of people with lesseror no qualifications, besides the skilled and unskilled youth.”
Quoting an official report, he said that unemployment ratein the state is higher than the national average. “The woes of the increasingeducated unemployed youth are multiplying with each passing day.”
He urged the government to come up with some policy totackle the issue and “save the society from falling into a crisis.
