Uri blaze: 20 animals charred to death, four residential houses gutted

At least twenty animals were charred to death while four residential houses and a cowshed were gutted in a devastating blaze in Lachhipora area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

An official said that the fire broke out around 10 am from one house and soon spread to adjacent structures. Locals, police and army rushed to the spot and tried to douse the flames. 

   

An eye witness said 20 animals were charred to death.

The nearest fire service station, according to the locals, is located around 45 kilometers away, in main town Uri. 

The victims appealed to the authorities to provide them relief so they can reconstruct their houses. 

The houses damaged in the fire incident belonged to Ghulam Mohammad Mughal, Haji Mohd Abdullah, Mohammad din Mughal, and Ghulam Mohammad Mughal.
