Vakil flays NC, Congress for ‘prevailing mess’ in J&K

President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Saturday held the NC and the Congress responsible for the prevailing “mess” in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hitting at the leadership of the two parties, Vakil said the Congress was responsible for eroding the autonomy of the state right from 1953 till the fall of the Omar-led NC-Congress coalition government in 2014.

“The National Conference, known for its failures on restoration of article 370 and removal of AFSPA is responsible for the current crisis in J&K,” he in a statement said.

Vakil was addressing a daylong party convention at Sopore today, the statement said.

He said, “People are fed up with them and their false promises. When they lose power, they beat the drum for justice and even shamelessly talk of Azaadi,” Vakil said.

Vakil also hit out at the PDP accusing it of changing colors after coming into power. “All these parties are equally responsible. When they are in power they forget all their promises. And when they are out of power, they even go to talk Azaadi,” Vakil asked.

Vakil said the PDP, the NC and the Congress should be held accountable to the people.

Hitting out at the present ruling dispensation he said the coalition was totally unnatural and it lacked cohesion. “They are not able to decide even about the reshuffle. They are busy in infighting and always ignore grievances of people,” Vakil said.
