Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik on Friday led a protest march in Srinagar in support of Article 35-A, which bars outsiders from buying immovable property in the state.
Addressing the protesters after the Friday prayers in Lal Chowk, Malik said that article 35-A is directly linked to the right to self-determination of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We want the rulers of India to know that every Kashmiri would protect the state subject law with their blood and life. They know their self determination right will be automatically snatched from them if state subject law is scrapped,” said Malik.
He said that the Joint Resistance Leadership will issue a protest calendar after consultations with all stakeholders to safeguard the state subject law.
