Violation of COVID guidelines: 15 arrested, 6 FIRs lodged

Keeping in view the recent daily surge in the number of cases in Kashmir Valley, Police in its efforts to implement Covid-19 guidelines strictly has arrested 15 persons in the last 24 hours, lodged 06 FIRs and also realized the fine to the tune of Rs. 175,300/- from 1268 people for violating the guidelines/rules.

In a statement police said that it has been organizing several public awareness drives, interactions with religious leaders, distribution of masks, public announcements and distribution of pamphlets across Kashmir.

   

In Kupwara, Police distributed free masks among the general public in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralpora to sensitize citizens about Covid-19 protocol. People of the area were also advised to follow Covid-19 guidelines and were also made aware about the symptoms of virus.

In Sopore, SHO PS Bomai held police public meeting with the respectable citizens of village Zaloora, Sagipora and Yamberzalwari where the participants were briefed about the precautionary measures to be followed for containment of Covid-19. The participants were also stressed upon to ensure social distancing and wear masks in Masajid, public transport and markets and spell out all the directions and advisories to general public.

In Sopore, the market checking drive was held to ensure wearing of face masks and following other mandated SOPs besides focussing on smooth supply of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadhan.
