Stating that Police was already investigating the Hokarsar encounter case, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) J&K General Secretary Ashok Koul Sunday said that they had urged the government to investigate the encounter.

He said that the Police had already stated that it was investigating the case.

Three youth from Pulwama and Shopian were killed in Srinagar in the early hours of Wednesday in an “encounter” with the Army and Police.

After the encounter, Army said that that they were militants planning a big strike along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway.

As soon as the photos of three persons started circulating, the families reached the Police Control Room (PCR) in Srinagar, accused the forces personnel of killing innocent men and demanded an inquiry into the killings.

As questions swirl around the encounter, Police said that all angles were being investigated while reiterating that the killed youth were Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of the militants.

“Contrary to the claims, the verified digital evidence revealed and corroborated that Aijaz and Ather had gone to Hyderpora and from there to the place of occurrence (encounter) only. Similarly, Zubair had gone first to Pulwama, then to Anantnag, then Shopian and Pulwama and finally came to (the) place of occurrence,” Police had said.
