Will lynch you, Ansari tells Rana

“You have already obtained the GST number for the businesses you own. I would not have interrupted you had you not taken the high moral ground,” Imran told Rana.

PDP minister Imran Raza Ansari on Tuesday threatened National Conference’s Devinder Singh Rana of lynching him inside the Assembly that witnessed acrimonious exchange of words between legislators of the opposition and treasury benches.

As Rana was speaking in the House, Imran accused him of trying to set Kashmir on fire by “dramatizing things” over implementation of GST in the State.

“You have already obtained the GST number for the businesses you own. I would not have interrupted you had you not taken the high moral ground,” Imran told Rana.

Amid commotion in the House, Rana replied: “I am happy that Ansari is defending the Government. I am also thankful to Haseeb Drabu for working hard to collect information about my GST numbers. It is not a sin to obtain GST number.”

The NC legislator said none of his companies had indulged in tax evasion or tax theft, apparently attacking Imran.

Angered over Rana’s remarks, Imran brazenly told  him : “I can lynch you here! I know your all shady businesses.”

Amid the sparring, another cabinet minister Sajjad Gani Lone asked Rana whether he was professing GST only for himself and not for others. “Would you advise other traders to apply for GST numbers?” Lone asked him.

Responding to Sajjad , Rana said the entire exercise of GST being done in J&K has no legal sanctity.

“Whether somebody has GST number or not, it has no value as GST has not come into effect in J&K,” Rana responded.

During Rana’s speech, NC’s Akbar Lone also attacked Naeem Akther when the latter made some comments. “You (Akther) are the worst person in the House. You are responsible for the present mess in Kashmir,” Lone remarked.

The House also witnessed another round of verbal duel when PDP MLA Choudhary Qamar complimented the PDP-led government for GST.

“Gaddar (traitor), Gaddar (traitor),” NC MLAs shouted at Qammar when he was praising the Government.

PDP MLA Javaid Mustafa Mir objected to the remarks, saying “this is not acceptable”.

“Is Hamam Mein Sab Nagay Hain,” Javaid remarked.

MLA Langate Er Rashid claimed that PDP MLA Javaid Hussain Baigh said that he (Rashid) deserved to be hanged.
