Will take Kashmir movement to its logical end: AAC

Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Sunday renewed its pledge to support the ongoing movement for right to self determination and termed the present situation in Kashmir highly “sensitive and explosive.”

In a statement here an AAC spokesman said that party leaders and activists participated in an important meeting at party headquarters Rajouri Kadal here and observed that present situation in Kashmir was highly volatile and explosive in nature. “They (AAC members) stated that forces are killing, maiming and harassing Kashmiris across the length and breadth and there was an atmosphere of fear all around,” the spokesman alleged. 

   

He said, “AAC members said that all the basic principles of democracy and humanity are being trampled in Kashmir through the military might and every voice that is raised against the injustices is silenced through force.”

“The participants strongly condemned the use of force during CASO against the inmates, arresting youth and thrashing the elderly including women and blowing up the houses by using explosives,” the spokesman said. 

The participants strongly denounced the frequent curbs on the movement of AAC patron and Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq terming it ultimate “political vendetta.” “They took a dig at the present administration for a fresh wave of repression which includes frequent search operations, arrest of youth and leaders, sealing of Kashmir’s biggest religious and spiritual centre, the historic Jamia Masjid on Fridays,” the spokesman said. 

The participants paid rich tributes to founder of AAC, Shaheed-e-milat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq and all the people who have scrficed their lives for a cause. They took a pledge to protect their  mission.  The participants also stressed on every rank and file to follow the JRL programs in letter and spirit.
