Windstorm followed by heavy rains damaged orchards and standing crops in parts of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
Reports said that heavy rains and strong winds lashedSopore, Rafiabad, Handwara, Hajin, Sumbal, Tangmarg, Baba Reshi, Sangrama andZaingeer for over an hour on Sunday evening.
“Dozens of trees were uprooted while the rooftops of someresidential houses also suffered damages due to the inclement weather,” thevillagers said.
