Won’t affiliate with government run madrassah board: Religious body

In its reaction of government’s move to regulate madrassah functioning, religious body Raabitah Madaaris Islamiyyah on Tuesday said “they don’t need to get affiliated to any such board” constituted by the government.

In a statement, religious seminary said it has been repeatedly announcing it’s stand of not getting affiliated with the board constituted by the government. “We don’t need to get affiliated to any such board. Neither it is beneficial for our mission,” it said.

   

“…Madrasahs affiliated to Darul-Uloom Deoband have got their own modus operandi and also have got their strong collective constituted board, which in the time of need issue orders regarding education, curriculum, administration, suggestions etc,” it said.

“Therefore we don’t need any other board. It was stressed upon that, as per the report published in the said daily, if any such board is being constituted, it will not only affect Deeni Madaaris pessimistically in general but will also affect educational system, accounts, propagation of religion in particular and happening of the same is not only for sure but is past experience as well,” it said.

It also said expenditures of religious seminaries suffices through Zakaat and Sadaqaahs. “…however after getting affiliated this spirit and the foundation may also get affected,” it said.

“However, rendering services, being independent and autonomous has always been the modus operandi of madrasah authorities. With the result, the society as a whole is reaping the fruits of practice, propagation, safety and security of Islam. In sub continent, post as well as pre Independence, Madrasahs always remained away from government interference,” it added.
